Meeting Description:
The 9th meeting of the Language Variation and Change conference (UKLVC9) will be held at Sheffield Hallam University from 2nd to 4th September 2013. UK Language Variation and Change is a bi-annual conference series which provides a regular forum in Britain for the presentation and discussion of recent international research in variation and change and sociolinguistics at all levels of linguistic structure (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, discourse). Presentations at UKLVC9 will promote further understanding of both theory and method within the field and to disseminate new research findings. We are pleased to announce the following keynote speakers: -Jen Hay (University of Canterbury, New Zealand) -Julia Snell (King’s College London, UK) -Peter Trudgill (Agder University, Norway) The local organising committee consists of: Chris Montgomery Emma Moore Joan Beal
