The main theme of the conference is early language acquisition with a focus on the role of input, in both normal and atypical development. The conference will encompass research on the following topics: Language development before the age of 3: phonetics, phonology, lexicon, morphosyntax Input and language acquisition Spoken production and gestures Cross-linguistic comparisons Typical and atypical language development The conference will consist of plenary lectures, paper sessions and poster sessions. The languages of the conference will be French and English. Selected conference papers, after a blind-review procedure, will be published in a journal or in an edited book. Author information (name, affiliation, email address) will be required on the submission website (http://www.ddl.ish-lyon.cnrs.fr/colloques/ELA2012/) but abstracts will be anonymously reviewed. For co-authored proposal, the first author will be considered as contact author. Proposals will be reviewed by 2 members of the scientific committee and notification of acceptance will be sent out starting June 20, 2012. The anonymous abstracts must be in 12 point Times or Times New Roman font, formatted for A4 or US Letter size paper with margins of 2.5 cm or 1 inch. The maximum length for the text of the abstract is two pages including figures, glossed examples and bibliographical references. To facilitate the reviewing process, please submit your abstract in English and as a .pdf file if it includes special fonts or as an .rtf, .doc or .docx file.
