There are four main awards for which candidates working on research topics supervised within our department are eligible to apply. Within the context of the White Rose Doctoral Training Center the department is able to offer two ESRC funded studentships, which comprise a fee waiver and a maintenance grant. These awards can be held on a 1+3 years (Masters+PhD) or +3 years (PhD) basis. One AHRC studentship is available, which also comprises a fee waiver and a maintenance grant, for 3 years. The fourth studentship is generously provided by the Wolfson Foundation and consists of an award of £25000 per year for 3 years.
