Sr Cyber Software Engineer Requisition#: 10543944 Chosen candidate must possess an active TS/SCI with full scope polygraph. Professional Experience: Northrop Grumman Information Systems sector is seeking a Cyber Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in the Columbia, MD area. Roles and Responsibilities: The software engineer's primary role will be to work with stakeholders to develop requirements, contribute to the technical design of software, and lead implementation, integration, and testing for software in the area of textual content analytics research. Candidate should be ready to thrive in a research and development environment - working with cutting-edge technologies, helping to design innovative solutions, and responding to shifting priorities. Basic Qualifications: (a) BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar technical major plus nine years software engineering experience; or a master's degree in Computer Science, Linguistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar technical major plus three years software engineering experience, (b) nine years experience in object-oriented programming, (c) three years experience working with the Intelligence Community. Desired Skills: (a) Experience using Java IDEs (eg, JBuilder, Eclipse); (b) Experience in software development in a Unix environment, (c) Experience creating and maintaining applications involving a wide variety of programming and scripting languages (C, C++, Java, Perl, Python, MatLab, csh, sh, etc.), (d) Experience in Cloud computing applications, such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Pig, Hive; (e) Experience working in a research & development environment; (f) Experience developing software prototypes in text/natural language processing is a plus; (g) Must be able to interface with government technologists on a daily basis but also sometimes work well with minimal supervision.
