Full Title: Linguistics Applied
Call Deadline: 30-Nov-2012
As an International Journal of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, Linguistics Applied is committed to pursuing issues pertaining to linguistics and applied linguistics broadly defined. The next volume (7) will be devoted to audiovisual translation. An increasing number of contributions have appeared in recent years on the subject, typically focusing on dubbing and subtitling but usually not granting due space to other modalities. This volume is meant to offer a fresh and comprehensive picture of AVT. Thus, besides contributions on the most common forms of AVT, we welcome papers focusing on the least studied modalities. Scholars are therefore invited to submit papers that explore the following topics: Voice-over Narration Commentary Audio description AVT in English-speaking countries Dubbing into English Dubbing Subtitling - for the deaf Subtitling - standard Subtitling - real time Surtitling Funsubbing Respeaking The papers pertaining to the areas mentioned above should be submitted in MS-Word via e-mail to the Editors at their contact addresses given below not later than November 30th. Papers should not exceed 6000 words and should be preceded by an abstract of 150 words. The language of the volume will be English. All papers are internationally refereed. Papers undergo a double-blind peer review process. All papers submitted to Linguistics Applied should be original. The editors will select contributions for the special issue on the basis of the extended abstracts of 500-1000 words submitted and notify authors of acceptance or otherwise at the beginning of September 2012. The date of publication of this issue would be 2014. Submission deadlines: Extended abstract for selection should be sent to the editors by June 30th. On the basis of abstract evaluation authors will be notified of acceptance of their proposal at the beginning of September. By November 30th authors have to send their final contribution to both editors.
