The 8th International Conference on Middle English (ICOME 8) will be hosted by the English Department at the University of Murcia (Spain) in May 2013, from Thursday 2nd to Saturday 4th. ICOME 8 is co-organized with members of the Universities of Malaga and Jaen, and it will continue the series of successful ICOME conferences held at Rydzyna (1994), Helsinki (1997), Dublin (1999), Vienna (2002), Naples (2005), Cambridge (2008) and Lviv (2011). The conference will cover different aspects of Middle English language and texts, thus being a useful interdisciplinary forum for scholars from a range of disciplines such as historical linguistics, literary and textual studies. The following plenary speakers have confirmed their participation: Herbert Schendl (Vienna) Terttu Nevalainen (Helsinki) Vincent Gillespie (Oxford) Mª José López Couso (Santiago de Compostela) The call for papers, together with additional information on accommodation and travel arrangements, will soon be circulated and posted on the conference web page.
