University of Hertfordshire Senior Lecturer in English Language and Communication SBU: Humanities Salary: £35,938 - 45,486 p.a. The School of Humanities is seeking to appoint a full time Senior Lecturer in English Language and Communication in the area of Semantics, Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis and/or Forensic Linguistics from September 2012. Applicants should have a very good research record, along with firm plans for a high quality submission to the forthcoming Research Excellence Framework. As well as carrying out undergraduate teaching, research and administrative duties as appropriate, you will be expected to support research activities of the English Language and Communication group as well as undertake supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate projects on topics related to the areas specified above. You will hold a PhD in Semantics, Pragmatics, Discourse Analysis and/or Forensic Linguistics and have experience of teaching in these areas as well as core areas of English Language, such as grammar and Phonetics/Phonology. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is an essential requirement of this post.
