University of Hertfordshire- School of Humanities SBU: Humanities Lecturer in English Language and Communication Part-time (0.5 fte) Salary: £30,122 - £35,938 pro rata per annum The School of Humanities is seeking to appoint a 0.5 Lecturer in English Language and Communication in the area of Sociolinguistics and/or Second Language Learning and Teaching from September 2012. As well as carrying out undergraduate teaching in the areas specified, the successful candidate will be expected to undertake supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate projects on topics related to the areas specified above. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Sociolinguistics or Second Language Learning and Teaching, have a good research profile and experience of teaching in these areas as well as core areas of English Language, such as Grammar and Phonetics/Phonology. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is an important requirement of this post.
