Job Number: 374047 Position: Responsibilities will include development, refinement, and implementation of algorithms for document segmentation, lexical analysis, natural language parsing, and conceptual indexing. Work will involve all aspects of software design and development from system requirements definition to integration and testing, as well as implementing system requirements for complex customer systems where necessary and/or preparing studies to analyze existing systems. An NLP Engineer reports to the Manager of NLP Development. Work will involve the development, enhancement, and maintenance of complex NLP software, with thorough documentation of sophisticated algorithms and procedures. This position will work closely with medical language linguists to develop techniques for state-of-the-art medical NLP. Requirements: Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Computational Linguistics, Computer Science, or a Computational Linguistics-related discipline. 2+ years of experience in Natural Language Processing and Software Development 2+ years of strong programming skills in C++, C#, or Java with strong experience in object-oriented design and development. 2+ years of Natural Language Processing: experience with symbolic and statistical methods, experience in two or more sub-specialties such as development and analysis of large text corpora, information extraction, named entity recognition, text preprocessing, morphology, ontological reasoning, and semantic or grammatical disambiguation. Assets: Experience with Lex/Yacc, ANTLR or other parser generator framework.
