Description:

Janya Inc., located in suburban Buffalo, New York in the technology corridor
adjacent to the State University of New York at Buffalo, is a leader in
semantic technology pertaining to natural language processing, machine
learning, information extraction and text mining. We are seeking a
computational linguist to support Janya efforts in languages other than
English.

The candidate will (i) work with a team to enhance multilingual processing
capabilities of Janya technologies, (ii) participate in government sponsored
research and development efforts, (iii) directly support product enhancements
to Janya platforms by adding new language processing capabilities; and (iv)
represent Janya in engagements with customers and partners.

This position will be based in Buffalo, NY. Salary will be commensurate with
education and experience. Janya offers a generous benefits package that
includes health insurance, 401 (k) plan and vacation time.

Requirements:

- Masters degree in Computer Science or Linguistics
- 3-5 years hands-on experience in development or support of Natural
Language Processing systems
- Expertise in programming required
- Fluency in Chinese; other languages a plus
- Linux and Windows development experience
- US citizenship
- Expertise in corpus-based, empirical, machine learning approaches to
language is highly desirable
