Description:
Due to a late withdrawal, we have a vacancy for a PhD candidate to start in Fall 2012; funding via a Graduate Assistantship is possible for the right candidate. This funding covers course fees and provides a stipend for living expenses in return for Graduate Assistant duties. Due to the lateness of the vacancy, we can only consider applicants with a Master's degree (completed or to be completed this semester), a completed GRE of 380 Verbal, 1000 combined (old system) or 145 verbal, 294 combined (new system). A 3.3 GPA in graduate work is also expected. Non-first-language English speakers are expected to have a TOEFL (at least 81 on the internet version) or IELTS (at least 6.5) qualification. If you do not have a GRE score yet, please do NOT apply. Applicant will need interests in phonetics/phonology, sociolinguistics, bi/multilingualism, systemic functional linguistics, and/or any aspect of communication disorders (except hearing impairment). Please contact me immediately if interested.
