Abstract:

This book presents the historical lexicography of German, Dutch, and
English with a focus factors related to ideological history, professional
lexicography, and cultural education. The book begins by addressing
societal interest in historical lexicography, and continues with a
discussion of dictionary typology and preparatory work with corpora. In the
main part of the book, the author undertakes a professional treatment of
the common types of lexicographic information, and also furnishes some
