Meeting Description:

A one-day workshop on syntax and semantics will be held at Fuji Women's University (Sapporo, Japan) on September 8, 2012. Our plenary speaker is Richard Larson (Stony Brook University). The workshop themes are: theoretical syntax and semantics.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for talks (30 minutes presentation, followed by 10 minutes discussion) on any aspect of theoretical syntax and semantics. The possible topics include:

- Syntax-semantics interface
- Argument structures
- Ditransitives
- Theta structures
- Inflection
- Right/left periphery
- Adjectives
- Adverbial clauses
- Case conversion

(The workshop language is English.)

Proceedings:

Proceedings for the presented papers will be published as a journal at Fuji Women's University.

Financial Support:

There is no financial support available for presenters and participants.

Please send a one-page (A4/US Letter) abstract with a separate page specifying the authors' name, affiliation, postal address, and email address (in Microsoft Word or PDF), to engdeptfujijoshi.ac.jp before Saturday, June 30 (the message title should be 'Syntax and Semantics Workshop'). Abstracts will be double-blind peer-reviewed, and notification of acceptance will be around the middle of July.
