All, I've just set up an API that allows everyone access to frequency and trending data extracted from our Twitter Stratified Random Sample (see http://illocutioninc.com/Research). The data is updated every 6 hours, so the API is always delivering current stats. The link below will take you to a page with explanations and a demo app that will allow you to test and see what is returned. This is really the best way to stay up-to-date on the Twitter Lexicon and trends (better than the Lexicon download), and it is a fantastic way to add linguistically-principled trend data to your web site.
