The candidate is also expected to contribute to the academic standing and good reputation of the department of African Languages and Literature by engaging in research, publications and/or external professional activities. Requirements: Senior Lecturer; the candidate should possess (i) a Masters degree in African or general linguistics, the possession of a PhD would be an added advantage; (ii) at least 3 years of teaching experience at university or equivalent institution (iii) expertise in teaching and research in some of the following areas: Translation/interpretation, Lexicography and Term development (iv) a minimum of 6 pieces of published research (e.g books, book chapters or journal articles), at least 4 of these should be refereed journal articles, lead or single author in at least 2; (v) the candidate should demonstrate evidence of sustained research output; (vi) evidence of service to the university, the profession and the community (vii). The curriculum vitae should contain a detailed list of published works, clearly specifying titles of publications, dates published, names of publishers, name/s of co-authors and number of pages. (viii) Knowledge of Setswana or any African language will be an added advantage.
