Payscale:
Professorial - Salary is negotiable
Reader - Grade 8 £46,846 to £52,706 p.a.

Led by our recently appointed Vice-Chancellor, Sir David Bell,
Reading's vision will be supported by 50 new academic posts. As part
of this initiative, we are looking to recruit three outstanding
researchers in the field of multilingual language learning/acquisition
and/or literacy to lead, develop and expand a new multidisciplinary
research Centre for Literacy and Multilingualism. This is one of these
three positions.

You will have an ambitious and innovative research agenda and will be
comfortable working in a multidisciplinary environment with
specialists in fields such as applied linguistics, psychology,
neuroscience, education and speech and language therapy.
You will have a very strong track record of
research, including a proven ability to secure research council
grants.

You will have:
- A strong and internationally-recognised research profile
- Research interests and experience in areas that complement ongoing
research in the University
- Experience in applying for research grants and proven ability to
secure high level funding from
research councils and other funding bodies for research
- Good administrative skills and a desire to play a leadership role in
the Centre
