Description:
Appen Butler Hill has an immediate need for a Polish
Linguist/Phonetician with experience in phonetic transcription. The
consultant will work part time, approximately 5 hours per week, through
December 31, 2012. The position is remote.
Requirements:
- Linguistic degree (BA)
- Expertise in phonetics a plus
- Experience with phonetic description desired
- Have a great attention to detail (possibly have experience as a
teacher) and be highly motivated in a fast pace environment
- Commitment of 5 hours/week required
- Commitment to check email and respond to client requests every day
Tasks:
- Review and correct the input/output of the tokenizer
- Review and correct the input/output of the formatter
- Review and correct word prons
- Review and lexicalize out of vocabulary words
- Review, correct and add spoken forms to word names
- Serve as language expert for research
- Review and clean up lexicon-origin attributes
- Phonetic transcription
