Conference Theme: Teaching Chinese in the 21st Century: Changes & Challenges Entering the second decade of the 21th century, we face a generation of students who grew up using electronic and digital devices. These technologies have transformed modern life; certainly the teaching of CSL and CFL is also influenced by internet innovations, cloud computing, mobile learning devices, and digital classrooms. Therefore, in addition to issues and topics concerning TCSL in general, the 7th Canadian TCSL Association International Conference will address the impact and implications of these new technologies on TCSL, with emphasis on the changes and challenges to: 1) Classroom activities and curricula 2) Teaching materials and textbook formats 3) Learning structure and style 4) Instructional methodologies 5) Students learning motivation and study habits 6) Academic research and studies on TCSL
Call for Papers: We cordially invite you to participate in the 7th Canadian TCSL Association International Conference and the 2012 Annual General Meeting. The Conference Committee welcomes submissions of one-page proposals for a 15-minute presentation on subjects under the listed themes. Papers can be either in Chinese or English. We will also consider proposals for panels. Conference Paper Deadlines: 1) Fill out the abstract submission form available through our website and send it by email attachment to: billie_ng sfu.ca by midnight of April 30, 2012. Abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by the Conference Committee. Notifications will be sent out by email by May 31, 2012. 2) Full papers for accepted proposals should be submitted by midnight of June 30, 2012 for review, revision and publication.
