Meeting Description:
The Department of English Linguistics at the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary, Budapest is pleased to announce an international conference entitled Interfaces in English Lingustics. The aim of the event is to bring together researchers who investigate various aspects of English phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax or semantics both from a synchronic and also from a diachronic point of view. We are expecting papers that ideally address issues related to interface phenomena addressing any of the above-listed fields of research. Time of the Conference: Friday 12 October 2012 - Saturday 13 October 2012 Venue: Building of the Faculty of Arts (H-1088, Budapest, Reviczky u. 4), located directly in the centre of Budapest close to the bank of the river Danube Confirmed Keynote Speaker: László Kristó, Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Hungary Other keynote speakers are to be announced later. Conference Fee: 10 000fts or 35 euros, and it includes coffee break refreshments. Accommodation: Hotel reservations should be made individually. The organizers will provide the participants with useful information concerning accommodation upon request. Prices will range from 35 to 80 euros per night (single or double room, breakfast included).
2nd Call for Papers: Each paper will be allotted 30 minutes (20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion). A selection of papers will be published after the conference in the online SKASE Journal of Theoretical Linguistics (editor-in-chief: Pavel Stekauer). Abstract Submission Guidelines: An abstract of up to 300 words should contain the following information: (1) Title of the paper (2) Name of the author(s) (3) Affiliation of the author(s) (4) Email address (5) Postal address (6) Contact phone number Submissions should be sent by email (as word doc attachments) to: interfaces2012 kre.hu.
