Meeting Description:

The Spanish Society for Applied Linguistics (AESLA) is pleased to announce its 31st Annual Conference to be held at the University of La Laguna (Spain) on 18-20 April 2013. The conference theme, Communication, Cognition and Cybernetics, seeks to promote contributions on possible interfaces among different research domains within the general field of applied linguistics.

Call for Papers:

Proposals for papers, posters or round tables must be submitted using the online proposal submission form no later than 30 November 2012 (see Online Management section).

Texts should not exceed 500 words, excluding figures and references. Authors will be notified of the acceptance/rejection of their papers around 21 December, once the review processes is completed. No more than 2 contributions per author will be accepted.

Proposals (not more than 500 words, figures and references apart) must be submitted using the conference page: http://aesla2013.tucongreso.es no later than 30 November 2012. Proposals are welcome which work on the areas represented by the ten thematic panel structure of the Association:

Acquisition and learning
Language teaching and curriculum design
LSP
Psycholinguistics, child language and psycholinguistics
Sociolinguistics
Pragmatics
Discourse analysis
Corpus linguistics, computational linguistics and engineering
Lexicology and lexicography
Translation and interpretation

The conference languages are Spanish and English.

The conference will generate a refereed proceedings.
