Meeting Description:

On September 15, 2012 the Institute for Advanced Studies, IUSS, Pavia will celebrate the opening of the Academic Year 2012-13 and the new seat at Palazzo del Broletto.

For the occasion, Noam Chomsky (Institute Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA) will deliver a plenary lecture on 'Language and Limits of Understanding'.

In the afternoon, Chomsky will meet the students. Participants will be able to ask questions on language to one of the most influential contemporary thinkers.
