Meeting Description:
The Association of Hispanists of Great Britain & Ireland is a professional association of academic staff and researchers in all areas of Hispanic Studies in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The Association aims to promote scholarly research in Great Britain and Ireland into the study of the languages and cultures of the Hispanic and Lusophone world. We take an active part in continuing dialogue on these activities with the British and other Governments, and appropriate agencies such as HEFCE, and aim to promote the widest possible awareness of their cultural, educational and vocational importance.
Call for Papers: This conference offers to members and non-members of the AHGBI an opportunity to present a 25 or 20 minute presentation outlining the objectives, methods and results of their individual or team research in Spanish, Latin American or Lusophone linguistics. There will also be space for posters. Proposals (in the form of an abstract of 150-200 words) are invited. Abstracts should be sent directly to the linguistics panel organisers listed at http://www.hispanists.org.uk/.
