Role: Senior Research Engineer
Location: Aachen, Germany

Job Description:
- Maintain, develop and integrate new core research technology in
the language model building toolkit, release engineering toolkit, and
NVC nightly update toolkit (to update the models in the cloud)
- Support toolkit usage on all grids, including the Yosemite grid.
- Develop and improve the Language Modeling toolkit used
throughout the company
- Automate and speed up language modeling processes
- Integrate new research algorithms into tools, optimize
implementation
- Create robust new tools to solve research problems
- Support the use of tools in Nuance research and professional
service community

Skills and Experience Required:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related field
- Excellent software development skills in Perl &/or Python, as
demonstrated by 3+ years experience using these languages in a
commercial software development environment
- Extensive experience working in Unix/Linux environment.
Experience with version control tools (e.g. SVN, HG) and ticket
systems (e.g. Fogbugz)
- Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills, quick learning
- Self-motivated with demonstrated attention to detail; able to plan
the details of accomplishing a given task, and to anticipate and
prepare for future needs
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in a speech-related field (ASR, TTS, LM, MT,
Information Retrieval)
- Very good written and spoken English
- Software development skills in C/C++

Education:
- Master student of computer science or related field
