Role: Software Engineer (Technical Consultant) Location: Ulm, Germany REF: 7988 Role Description: As a Software Engineer (Technical Consultant) you will be the expert for audio/acoustics, definition of hardware/ software requirements for integration and standardized tests for Nuance speech enhancement and voice recognition products on mobile devices, tablets, PCs, and TVs. - Expertise center for audio/acoustics for Nuance voice recognition products - Hardware/ software specification for multi-channel audio capture and audio integration - Definition and set-up of standardized ASR tests for mobile devices, tablets/PCs - Consulting/customer services with respect to microphone/loudspeaker specifications, microphone arrangements and audio system integration - Evaluation of microphones and tests of product configurations. - Simulation of various operating conditions for ASR (e.g. via artificial mouth re-recording) - Evaluation of new algorithms and impact on ASR performance Skills and Experience Required: - Master's degree in electrical engineering, communications technology or a related field; industry experience in this domain is preferred - A strong academic background in digital signal processing, speech and audio processing is desired - The qualified candidate should have at least a few years of work experience in industry - Strong programming skills in C and MATLAB are required - Familiar with audio stacks of major operation systems - The candidate should have good language skills in English and German Preferred: - Familiar with audio measurement techniques - Knowledge of audio hardware used in embedded / mobile devices - Knowledge of Python/Perl is a plus To apply, visit the application URL below and enter reference number 7988.
