[Please note that the official job announcement to be referred to for the following translation can be found at the application URL below or https://online.uni-graz.at/kfu_online/wbMitteilungsblaetter.list?pOrg=1] The Department of English Studies, Section Theoretical Linguistics is filling a University Assistant with doctorate position (40 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of 4 years; envisaged job starting date immediately ) Job Specification: -Research in the area of theoretical linguistics with a focus on the syntax-semantics interface; participation in research initiatives -Participation in teaching in English linguistics -Support in solving the tasks in the section Theoretical Linguistics Professional Qualifications: -Completed PhD in the area of theoretical linguistics. Applicants should be able to prove strong expertise in formal semantics and/or syntax -Excellent background in grammatical theory and visible experience in an empirical-experimental or corpus-based area -Experience in the area of language change would be a plus (not strictly necessary if strong expertise in the other areas above is available) Personal Profile: -Organizational talent and teamwork ability -Self-dependent working methods -Reliability Classification: Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1 Minimum salary: The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 3381.70 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations. Application Deadline: 10.
