Description:
The Department of Romance and Classical Studies at Michigan State University is seeking a full-time, academic year Assistant Director of French Language Instruction. This position will begin August 16, 2013. Duties to be assigned by the Director of Language Instruction, but will include assistance in syllabus design, testing, instructor observation, advising, and program evaluation. Minimum Qualifications: - M.A. degree or equivalent in Applied Linguistics or related field - Demonstrated oral ability at the Superior level using the ACTFL scale - Demonstrated organizational and management abilities - Demonstrated excellence as language instructor - Willingness to work within an articulated program under the Language Program Director - At least 2 years teaching experience at the University or College level Desired Qualifications: - Preference given to candidates who are certified ACTFL oral proficiency testers.
