The Department of Languages and Translation at the University of Tabuk in
Saudi Arabia is seeking applicants for faculty positions in all fields of
English Literature, Linguistics, and Second Language Acquisition.
Candidates in the following fields will be given high priority:
1) Post-Modern Literature
2) Post-Colonial Literary Theory
3) African Literature
4) Applied Syntax & Morphology
5) Viscous Analysis
6) Drama and Poetry
8) Second Language Acquisition.
University of Tabuk is a new state university whose ground breaking was in
2006. It aspires to be a premier research institution in the Middle-East.
Faculty positions are open at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor
levels and will commence in September of 2013. At the time of appointment,
candidates must have earned a doctorate in English Literature, Linguistics
or a related field. Specific duties include the development of research
programs, undergraduate/graduate teaching and student advisement, as well
as service activities. Interested candidates are invited to submit a letter
of application, comprehensive curriculum vitae, a summary of teaching and
research interests and the names and contact information of three

be interviewed either in-person or online. Salary scale is for Assistant
Professors 14,000-18,000 Saudi Riyal (SAR), for Associate Professors
17,000-21,600 SAR and for full-Professors 20,800-26,000 SAR per month.
There is an additional up to 25,000 SAR annual tuition allowance for
children's education and one time 12,500 SAR furniture allowance. Faculty
members can also earn an additional two months' of base salary for eligible
funded research activities. Free round-trip air-ticket is provided annually
to the employees and for up to three of their dependents from Tabuk to
their point of origin. Saudi Arabia is tax-free country. Preceding salary
amounts are take-home pay. Faculty members also get 2 months of paid summer
vacation. Currency conversion rate is; 3.75 Saudi Riyals are 1 USD.
Language of instructions at Tabuk University is English.
About the City of Tabuk:
A town of great antiquity, Tabuk is the historic capital of the Tabuk
Province which is located in the north-western part of Saudi Arabia. It is
very close to the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba. The City stands 2,200 ft.
above sea level and enjoys an equitable weather with temperature that
ranges between 17 - 37 Cº; its climate has been compared to the Tucson area
in the southwestern United States. The City of Tabuk's ancient history date
back to 1500 BC and it is home to numerous archeological sites from
Paleolithic times through the end of the Ottoman Empire. This region is
