Application deadline: November 21th, 2012 Application email: martine.adda-decker_at_univ-paris3.fr Application reference: EFL-PPC5 Within the 10 year research project 'Empirical foundations of Linguistics' (http://www.labex-efl.org/) started in 2011, we are looking for a Post-doctoral Research Associate with a background in speech and hearing sciences and clinical phonetics. The postholder will participate to a project on the assessment of phonetic and phonological complexity in motoric speech disorders. He/she will be working with Cécile Fougeron and Lise Crevier-Buchman at the Laboratoire de Phonétique et Phonologie in Paris. Responsibilities will include the acoustic analysis of a corpus of dysarthric speech and the design of a new corpus manipulating articulatory demands, the selection of dysarthric patients according to the set of alterations tested, and the acoustic and ultrasound data analysis of their productions. Applicants must have completed a PhD in a relevant field (speech and hearing sciences, clinical phonetics). Experience in the acoustic analysis of speech and in the testing of patients is essential. Experience in articulatory investigation with ultrasound will be an advantage. Effective organizational, written and verbal communication skills are also essential.
