Description:
Work closely with engineers and researchers to annotate natural language text at both syntactic and semantic levels. Requirements: Undergraduate or masters in linguistics in both Korean and English. Excellent English and Korean communication skills. Quick learner, eager to tackle new problems, learn new technical skills and ability to work independently. Proficiency in languages other than English desirable but not required. Can convey task requirements / present findings concisely and effectively. Familiarity with web technologies and comfortable with multiple computing platforms (Unix, Windows, Mac) and office applications (spreadsheets, presentation software, etc.). Quick learner, eager to tackle new problems and learn new technical skills; Can work independently and prioritize time between multiple projects, and adapt to changing schedules and different types of products. Can work well in cross-functional teams, including Engineers, Product Managers, and Sales and Operations Specialists. Language Expert Engineer will manage projects' tasks related to automatic processing of natural language text in one of the target languages (Amharic, Burmese, Cebuano, Corsican, Hausa, Hmong Daw, Javanese, Kazakh, Khmer, Kinyarwanda, Kurdish, Kyrgyz, Malayalam, Maori, Marathi, Mongolian, Nepali, Oriya, Pashto, Punjabi, Sinhalese, Somali, Tajik, Tatar, Turkmen, Uzbek, Wolof, Xhosa, Yoruba, Zulu). This includes: -Evaluating, annotating and classifying linguistic data -Writing scripts to collect and process data -Improving existing product infrastructure Job Requirements: -Fluent speaking and writing skills in of one of the target languages above and proficient in English -Computer science undergraduate or equivalent experience -Proficiency in programming in Python, Perl, or C++ -Passion for language and a keen interest in technology -Good knowledge of orthography and grammar in the target language -Background in data mining a plus -Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts -Excellent verbal and written communicator
