19th European Symposium on Languages for Special Purposes 2013 'Languages for Special Purposes (LSP) in a Multilingual, Transcultural World' The 19th European Symposium on Languages for Special Purposes will take place 8-10 July 2013 in Vienna, Austria. The conference is being hosted by the Centre for Translation Studies of the University of Vienna. Please check the LSP 2013 website for the most up-to-date information regarding the conference: http://lsp2013.univie.ac.at Keynote speakers and further information on registration will be announced shortly on the conference website. The members of the Programme Committee and of the local organizing team will also be presented on the conference website.
Call for Papers: You are invited to submit abstracts for papers to be presented at the conference on the following topics: - Domain-specific languages (in domains such as law, medicine, business, engineering, etc.) - Languages for Special Purposes in specific languages, countries, regions of the world - Professional communication - Theoretical and methodological issues of LSP research - LSP teaching and training - Multilingualism, language policies, and socio-cultural issues of LSPs - Terminologies in theory and practice - Corpus-studies for LSP practice and research - Technical/specialized translation - Science communication - Other relevant topics falling under the general scope of the conference Guidelines for Abstracts:
Abstracts for oral presentations must be submitted using the online submission form through the website http://lsp2013.univie.ac.at. The deadline for the submission is 5 March 2013 (23:59 CET). The abstract should be no longer than 300 words and should be submitted in English.
Language policy of the symposium: In general papers are to be presented in English. We will also accept papers to be presented in German, French, Spanish, and in other languages upon request. In case you want to present in another language than English, you are, nevertheless, asked to submit your abstract in English. This will also be needed for the book of abstracts. No interpreting services will be available.
