Description:

Duties and responsibilities:
- Teach South African Sign Language and Culture, Linguistic and Culture of
the deaf
- Initiate and sustain high profile research into South African Sign Language
Linguistics
- Involve in revision and further development of the South African Sign
Language curriculum

Inherent requirements:
- PhD degree in Linguistics (South African Sign Language / a signed
language)
- Proven evidence of postgraduate supervision
- A proven track record of publication in peer reviewed journals
- Evidence of course coordination/curriculum development

Recommendation:
- PhD degree in Linguistics
- Three (3) year teaching experience on tertiary level
- Proven interest in South African Sign Language / a signed language
