2nd International Conference on Cultures and Languages in Contact November 22-23, 2012 The Moroccan Culture Research Group (MCRG) Faculty of Letters & Human Sciences El Jadida, Morocco The Moroccan Culture Research Group (MCRG) invites you to attend its second International conference on 'Cultures and Languages in Contact'. The conference will be held at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences-El Jadida, Morocco on November 22-23, 2012. The goal of this international symposium is to bring together scholars working on current issues within the context of languages and culture. Specifically, the symposium seeks to provide an overview of the state-of-the-art, explore new directions and emerging trends in cultures and languages. The conference registration fee is 60 Euros (700 Moroccan Dirhams) covering access to all sessions, 1 lunch, coffee breaks and conference materials. Call for Papers: Areas of interest include (but are not limited to): Cultures in contact and contrast Languages in contact: Contemporary issues Cultures and Languages across the curriculum Society & Culture as reflected in translated Arabic works Digital culture Cultural diversity and language education Translation and media The impact of politics on trends in translation Teaching translation and interpreting: Methods and modes of delivery Multiculturalism, multilingualism and integration Cultural relevance in literary and cultural production Guidelines for Paper, Poster and Workshop Submissions: Proposals for paper, poster presentations, and workshops should consist of a title, an abstract, and a short summary. Titles should be no longer than 15 words. Abstracts are limited to 250 words in length, and summaries are limited to 50 words. Individual paper sessions will be 20 minutes in length, followed by discussion: Posters should measure no more than 90cm x 120cm (3ft by 4ft). Poster presenters should plan to present and discuss their work for at least one hour during their assigned poster session. Workshops should be 60 minutes in length. Selected papers will be published in Special Volumes of Conference Proceedings. The language of the conference is English.
