I am a student that is working on a term paper which involves analyzing the features of either a pidgin, creole, or a mixed language. I would like to analyze the Ogasawara (Bonin) Mixed Language since its source languages are two languages that I have high competency in: American English and Japanese.
However, aside from Daniel Long (2007), I have yet to find anyone who has done extensive research on this language. I would like to see samples of this language so that I can look at how its linguistic features compare to other mixed languages that I have learned about such as Media Lengua and Michif. Any references or responses would be greatly appreciated.
