LETiSS announces the Workshop on: Translation: Language across Languages

Introduction:
The 3rd International Workshop organized by the LETiSS Centre (Languages of Europe - Typology, History and Sociolinguistics) will be held in Pavia from Thursday, October 3 to Friday, October 4, 2013.
Under the guide of four leading specialists, the event will tackle and address the manifold and challenging issues related to translation, translating languages and linguistic theory.
No tuition fee is required! The Workshop is open to students, Ph.D. candidates, Post-docs, researchers, translators, and language teachers.
Furthermore, 10 advanced students in linguistics and related fields will be selected by the Organizing Committee, and LETiSS will cover their accommodation expenses (see Call for application and presentation proposal). The main criterion will be the degree of relatedness/pertinence of their research interests with the topics of the School.

Call for Papers:
Application for Accommodation Expenses & Presentation Proposal
Application Guidelines:
- Applicants must have achieved at least the B.A. + M.A. level (= a five years cycle).
- Applicants must attach a CV and a short description of their past, ongoing and future research projects (up to three pages).
- In the CV applicants should indicate any research activities and publications that may be relevant for the selection.
- Four applicants will also be allowed to present their ongoing research during the Workshop. Interested participants are invited to submit a proposal for a presentation (20 minutes + discussion, max. 250 words), that will be evaluated by the Organizing Committee.
LETiSS will book an accommodation for 10 selected applicants and cover their accommodation expenses.

28 June 2013: Applicants will receive a communication with all relevant information
