Meeting Description:
On February 6-7, 2014, the Fribourg-based Informal Research Group will be hosting the conference ‘Negotiating Methodological Challenges in Linguistic Research’ at the Institute for Multilingualism in Fribourg, Switzerland.
This conference gives junior and more experienced researchers alike a forum to discuss methodological challenges they are facing in their current projects and to work towards solutions together with the other attendees in a format that features talks and workshops.
In addition, four highly regarded scholars will give plenary talks discussing how they went about tackling methodological difficulties in their previous work.
‘Negotiating Methodological Challenges in Linguistic Research’ is geared towards researchers in the fields of applied linguistics, historical linguistics, psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics.
Visit the conference website at http://irg2014.org for more information.
Call for Papers:
We warmly invite researchers who would like to discuss their research methods and the problems they are confronted with to submit an abstract for a 20-minute talk or a proposal for conducting a one-hour workshop until March 31, 2013.
