The 4th International TAL Conference focuses on a broad spectrum of factors that interact with language processes. The ways people perceive and receive ideas and feelings is shaped by their own emotional makeup, cultural differences, and social norms - to mention the most influential shapers of linguistic activity. The questions we would like to address during the Conference concern the interplay of sociocultural and affective influences on second language acquisition and foreign language learning and teaching, bilingualism and multilingualism, contrastive linguistics, language assessment, literacies, discourse analysis, language pedagogy, lexicography, language planning and policies, pragmatics, forensic linguistics, and translation.
