The Department of Computational Linguistics at Heidelberg University announces one PostDoc position in the Computational Linguistics research group of Prof. Dr. Anette Frank.

The Computational Linguistics Department at Heidelberg University hosts a young and dynamic team conducting cutting-edge research in Natural Language Processing. With three full professorships, a growing number of PhD students and researchers the department is one of the important centres of Computational Linguistics in Germany.

Research in the Computational Linguistics group focuses on corpus-based statistical methods for semantic natural language processing. Topics include multilingual lexical semantics and knowledge acquisition, discourse-level semantic processing and NLP applications built upon these methods.

Job Requirements:
The post-doctoral researcher holds a PhD in Computational Linguistics or related fields and has demonstrated high-quality research in statistical Natural Language Processing. The successful candidate has a very good background in statistical NLP and machine learning, excellent programming skills and a proven publication record. The person holding this position participates in the research of the group and conducts independent research related to the group's research themes.

Salary: German scale TV-L 13
Duration: Initially two years with possible extension
Starting Date: October 1st, 2013

Job Description:
Four hours (PostDoc) of teaching per term in the department’s Computational Linguistics Bachelor and Master Programs, and participation in administrative duties. Next to English, a good command of German is required.
