University or Organization: Universität Tübingen
Department: SFB 833
Job Location: Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany
Web Address: http://www.sfb833.uni-tuebingen.de
Job Rank: Post Doc

Specialty Areas:

The collaborative research center SFB 833 'Constructing Meaning' at the
University of Tübingen is offering a four year postdoctoral position for a
Coordinator. The successful candidate will be a linguist with the
interpersonal skills necessary to manage a large-scale research project on a
day-to-day basis and ideally some administrative experience.

The coordinator is responsible to the Speaker of the SFB and to the Executive
Committee, who take the strategic decisions in the management of the SFB's
research program. The role of the coordinator is to facilitate internal
communications both between projects and from management bodies down to
sub projects, and to organize most collective functions and events. For
example, the coordinator will help individual projects and researchers to
integrate their work into the collaborative research center's activities, to
organize conferences and workshops, and to support the speaker and secretary's
office in all administrative work concerning the SFB.

Since the working language of the SFB and the administration of the university
is German, a very good knowledge of German is essential in this post.
Candidates who can offer a research specialism close to the concerns of the
SFB will be at an advantage.

The salary and conditions of the post are at point E13 on the public TV-L pay
scale, which is standard for postdocs. Applications should include CV, an
outline of research and administrative experience, as well as names and
addresses of up to three references. Applications should be sent by mail or by
e-mail to the address below.

The position is to be filled as soon as possible. Applications received by
June 24, 2013 will receive full consideration, although interviews may start
at any time and will continue until the position has been filled. The
successful candidate will be employed by the central university

Disabled applicants will be preferred if they have the same qualifications as
non-disabled applicants. The University of Tübingen strives to increase the
proportion of women in highly qualified academic positions, and therefore
encourages qualified female academics to apply.
