The Department of Linguistics in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary seeks to fill a 24-month limited term Assistant Professor position beginning on July 1 2013. Applicants should have a specialization in formal syntax. An ability to teach courses and to examine in the area of language acquisition (syntax) would be an asset. Teaching duties will consist of two courses per semester for two semesters at the undergraduate and graduate level. There will be opportunities to work with graduate students writing M.A. and Ph.D. theses. Service duties will be assigned. The University of Calgary is a research-intensive institution; the successful candidate will have the opportunity to continue his or her research program while meeting the other responsibilities of this position.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Linguistics and have experience teaching formal syntax at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
