Postdoctoral Research Assistant
£26,395 - £29,138 per annum
This post is fixed term for 36 months
This three year position, part of a project funded by the Leverhulme Foundation, is available at Birmingham City University from 1 October 2013. The RA will work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, researching and building a tagged electronic database comprising a thesaurus of English and French as used in England in the medieval period. The post allows scope for initiative and flexibility in designing and evaluating data entries, and also involves preparing co-authored research publications and organising academic meetings.
You must have an excellent reading knowledge of the pre-modern languages featured in the project, a good command of lexicology and of the socio-historical context, as well as experience in using and adapting pre-modern language databases.
