Specialty Areas: Computational Linguistics; Voice Interaction Design

Have you ever been frustrated trying to use an Automated Speech application? Do you think most speech applications out there are either dumb or too complicated? Ever wonder why that voice user interface recognized everything but the obvious? Want to be a part of a team that is committed to fixing all this?

[24]7 is looking for a Voice Interaction Designer to join a team designing world-class voice applications. Using [24]7's Conversation Engine™—the speech industry's most advanced voice application platform—he/she will work with a number of other skill groups to automate high-volume customer service calls in numerous vertical markets.

Candidates should be experienced in gathering, validating and documenting client business requirements. Using [24]7’s tools and methodologies, he/she will learn to quickly translate business requirements into call flow designs based on industry-leading [24]7 best-practices and validate them.

The Voice Interaction Designer will design new and redesign/enhance existing high-volume speech recognition applications, interactive sales demos and non-interactive recordings. On-going application tuning activities are also expected to ensure on-going data-driven improvements in application design. The Designer, working in concert with client stakeholders, will apply proven, advanced VUI design techniques and principles to manage presentation of information, guidance, querying, playback, and cognitive load management.
