Call Deadline: 11-Oct-2013
How do speakers of different languages perceive and talk about space and motion?
This is one of the hottest research topics in linguistics nowadays. Different studies from a wide variety of theoretical and applied frameworks investigate not only how speakers (native or learners) describe space and motion in their own languages but also which kind of cognitive mechanisms take part in their conceptualization. This workshop brings together specialists in the field of space and motion research and offers an overview of current research in this area with a special focus on semantic typology and its application to language acquisition and translation.
2nd Call for Papers:
We welcome poster submissions dealing with issues related to the field of space and motion from any perspective and framework. Deadline for poster submissions has been extended until 11 October 2013.
Poster submission (a 500 word abstract) and registration form are available at this address:
Notification of acceptance, as well as poster guidelines, will be sent individually to every author by 15 October 2013.
