Meeting Description:

The workshop on understudied languages and syntactic theory aims to encourage cross-framework discussion of understudied languages. The workshop is collocated with the HPSG conference (28-29 August 2014), but researchers from outside the HPSG framework are strongly encouraged to participate.

Matthew Dryer (University at Buffalo, SUNY)
Philip LeSourd (Indiana University, Bloomington)

Call for Papers:

The workshop is collocated with the HPSG conference (28-29 August 2014), but researchers from outside the HPSG framework are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts. Prospective speakers may submit either a 5 page abstract for the workshop session.

Workshop Format:

The session is composed of 30 minute presentations (plus 10 min discussion).

Submissions:

We will use an online submission system. All abstracts should be submitted via:
https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=hpsg2014.

Abstracts should be in PDF format.

All abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by at least two reviewers. Abstracts should not include the authors' names, and authors are asked to avoid self-references.

Important Dates:

Abstract submission deadline: 15 April 2014
Notification of acceptance: 30 May 2014
Workshop: 27 August 2014

Publication:

The workshop proceedings will be published online by CSLI Publications. Only papers presented in the main workshop session will be included in the proceedings.

A call for contributions to the proceedings will be issued after the conference. Proceedings of previous conferences are available at: http://csli-publications.stanford.edu/HPSG/.
