Description:

Subject to budgetary availability, the UCLA Department of Linguistics anticipates making two Lecturer appointments for academic year 2014-15 with the possibility of a single year renewal for 2015-16. Appointees will be paid an annual salary spread over a twelve month period between July 1, 2014 and June 30th, 2015, but the instruction dates are 9/29/14-6/12/15. One position will be for a specialist in phonetics and/or phonology; the other in syntax and/or semantics.

Qualifications: Should have Ph.D. degree by June 30th, 2014.

Salary will range from $45,975 to $54,650 based on qualifications and teaching experience, subject to future changes in the lecturer salary scale. Lecturer appointments that extend for the full academic year qualify for health insurance and other benefits.

The teaching load will be six courses per year with course assignments to be determined by the department, possibly including any of the following: teaching section meetings in introductory courses, teaching introductory courses, and teaching courses for the undergraduate major; a graduate proseminar may also be possible.
