The organizers of the conference Methods in Dialectology XV (http://www.methods-xv.net) have announced that they will award two Chambers prizes to the best papers by young scholars and two Opas-Hänninen prizes to the best posters. The prizes of €500 each are intended to recognize and stimulate young research talent devoted to language variation. They are named after scholars who set an example in fostering young talent. See the website for conditions.

Methods XV is the largest international dialectological conference anywhere and will be held in Groningen, Aug. 11-15 and the deadline for submitting papers will be Jan. 15, 2014 (see the website for a link to the EasyAbs site where abstracts for papers, workshops and special sessions may be submitted).
