Meeting Description:
The Society of Bruin Linguists is proud to announce that the fourth annual Southern California Undergraduate Linguistics Conference (SCULC) will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at UCLA.
SCULC is one of only two undergraduate linguistics conferences on the West Coast and is a forum for students to present their research or projects while networking with others in the linguistics community. The conference features a wide variety of linguistics subfields.
Keynote speakers will be announced as we approach the conference date.
Call for Papers:
We welcome abstract submissions on any topic related to linguistics, applied linguistics, or languages. Undergraduate research projects, individual study projects and term papers are all acceptable; papers may be works in progress.
If you are interested in presenting your research, you must submit your abstract by Friday, March 8, 2013 at 11:59 pm (PST). Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words (not including references). Please make all submissions in either PDF or .DOC(X) format. Students will have 20 minutes to present, with 5 minutes for Q&A following. Please indicate in your submission whether or not you will need any audio-visual equipment for your presentation.
Abstracts may be submitted as attachments to bling bruinling.org. Participants will be notified of the final decision regarding their abstracts beginning in late March.
