Description:
The Department of Romance Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher (full-time employment) specializing in Romance phonology with a starting date of May 1st, 2013, or as soon as possible thereafter.
The applicant should have: - An interest in phonology and/or phonetics; - Good knowledge of at least two Romance languages; - Experience in experimental methods and in statistical analysis; - Ability to work independently and self-motivated.
Responsibilities include participation in funding application, participation in teaching (4 hours/week) and in examination procedures as well as the management of the phonological laboratory of the Department. Basic knowledge of German is considered necessary. The department welcomes international applications.
Applicants must have completed their PhD degrees by the time of the appointment.
The salary level is set by the German federal salary scale TV-L E13, depending on professional experience and family situation. The period of employment will be for 36 months, with the possibility of extension contingent on funding.
