The purpose of the conference is to act as a platform for presenting and sharing of papers, projects, experiences and knowledge in the area of applied linguistics and to encourage fruitful cooperation among experts in the fields of languages and communication.
The conference will be held on 7-8 June 2013 at FON University located at Bul. Vojvodina bb, 1000 Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.
Conference fee: 1800 denars (30EUR). The reduced registration fee for students will be 600 denars (10EUR). All details regarding the registration procedure will additionally be announced.
Call for Papers:
We invite contributions by professionals working with language and its various applications in society (researchers, teachers, translators, interpreters, journalists, among others). We also welcome presentations by undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as other novice researchers working in linguistics, literature and communication studies who will be given a special session during the conference.
Possible topics of the conference include but are not limited to:
- Language and culture
- Second language acquisition/learning
- Teaching methodology
- Translation and interpreting
- Language in literature
- Languages for specific purposes
- Discourse analysis
- Languages in contact
Please send your abstract (300-500 words) for a 20 minute presentation by 10 March 2013 to fsj.conf2013gmail.com.
Notification of acceptance deadline: 14 April 2013
The working languages of the conference will be Macedonian and English.
Selected papers will be published in an electronic volume with ISBN.
