Meeting Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Cornell University is pleased to announce the 9th Workshop on Altaic Formal Linguistics (WAFL9), to be held on August 23-25, 2013. The invited speakers are professors Guglielmo Cinque, Bruce Hayes, and Susumu Kuno.

Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for 20-minute talks (plus 10-minute discussions) on topics dealing with formal aspects of any area of theoretical Altaic linguistics, including syntax, phonology, morphology, and semantics. The term ‘Altaic’ is understood to include Turkic, Mongolic, and Tungusic languages, as well as Korean and Japanese; abstract submissions on the linguistics of any members of this group are welcome.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:

Please send your abstracts electronically (.pdf, .ps, .rtf) to wafl9.cornell.edu. Abstracts should be no more than two pages; examples should be part of the text. Please do not include your name or affiliation on the abstract. The number of abstracts per author is limited to one single-authored and one co-authored abstract.

Please insert the following information in the accompanying email:

1. Paper title
2. Name(s) of author(s)
3. Affiliation(s) of author(s)
4. Email address to which the notification of acceptance should be mailed

Abstract submission deadline: April 1, 2013

Abstracts will be reviewed anonymously. Notification of acceptance will be sent in early May 2013.
