Meeting Description:

This workshop is a 25-hour introduction to statistics for researchers and graduate students in linguistics, held at the University of Mississippi in Oxford. The workshop will be led by Stefan Gries and is a slightly shorter version of the statistics bootcamp that he has conducted elsewhere. We will cover the following topics:

- basics of statistical thinking
- basic data manipulation with R (loading and processing)
- selected monofactorial tests
- linear modeling (regression and AN(C)OVA)
- binary logistic regression (for multifactorial linguistic variation)
- graphs and other visual presentations of results

The fee for this four-day workshop is $300, including coffee and lunch each day.
